This news recently posted over at Automotive news states that Ford will reduce it's production mainly in Trucks by 168000 units forthe 4th quarter of this year. This obviously reflects the drop in light truck sales thanks to rising prices at the pumps, this is a wake up call for Ford as it is for the other Domestic Automakers, who have relied heavily on truck profits to pump up their bottom lines.
While this isn't good news in the short run, it should lead to more diversified product cycle investments in the future.
I'd like to see more hybrid and diesel technology make it's way into more cars, and personal use trucks and SUV's, high pump prices are here to stay, and having more engine options besides Gasoline power would go a long way when oil prices fluctuate.
