DETROIT -- Ford Motor Co. confirmed today that it will build a
seven-passenger crossover vehicle for its Lincoln brand. Ford showed the Lincoln
crossover during a presentation to analysts. The vehicle shares its
underpinnings with a coming Ford-brand crossover based on the Fairlane
concept.Executives didn't provide a name or timing. But analysts expect the
Lincoln crossover, code-named D472, to go on sale in 2008 for the 2009 model
year.It's great to see Ford attemting to jump into this red hot market segment while it's still relitivly young and sales are still hot here.
